Bonding
The term ‘dental bonding’ refers to several interconnected techniques. Generally, it covers placing a white filling on previously prepared tooth surface. All defects are corrected with bonding and cavity defects and broken parts are replaced. After removing the damaged part, the tooth is bonded with a material called composite resin, chosen in accordance with the tooth’s color, which is not noticeable after the treatment.
It can be polished and smoothed so that the glow becomes identical with tooth’s natural one. Finally, it can be used for esthetic reshaping of the teeth’s front side. An advantage of the bonding is that it is a cheap and quick technique, which is done with only one visit to the dentist. The disadvantage is in its low durability in comparison to the porcelain restorations and its proneness to stain in time.
